What is Hey Kinfolk? 

Hey Kinfolk is an online co-op dedicated to everyday Black-owned household and personal care founded brands.  

What’s a co-op? 

A co-op is a business that is owned and operated by its members; this means we share ownership AND a percentage of our profits with co-op member-owners.

Why a co-op?

We’re not new to this; we’re true to this. In the past Black co-ops were a method of economic survival. It allowed us to take our economic well-being into our own hands by leveraging the power of the group. 

 

What does being a member-owner include?

  • Governance rights aka a seat at the table (the one that Solo was talking about)*
  • Profit share rights aka annual patronage refund (similar to cash back)*
  • Free no rush shipping
  • Access to our annual members' sales events
  • Education about co-ops 
  • Discounts for classes and workshops
  • Use of the co-op Community Room
  • Access our private Circle channel and connect with other member-owners
  • Access to members-only resources 

What are patronage refunds?

Patronage refunds are similar to cash back in that we pay you back for shopping with us. Profits are given back to members in proportion to their purchases.  Members will receive these profits via an annual check.  Please click here for more info on our member dividend. 

What is the excess amount of revenues that will be shared by the members?

The excess revenues that we share, if recognized, with our member-owners is made up of all profits made from the co-op within the previous calendar year.

How long does my purchase take to ship?

All orders are shipped via USPS with tracking within 24 hours. 

Do you ship internationally?

Not yet - Hey Kinfolk currently ships within the USA only.
